Who we are Supporting

In the Game – the League Managers Association Charity

The LMA aims to increase funding, remit and visibility of the LMA charity and increase its contribution to the wider community. The charity is an integral part of the LMA’s commitment to helping former, current and future members and their families who have fallen on difficult times or find themselves in need of specialist care, advice or assistance.

The charity’s expenditure is currently split across five areas: A confidential helpline, financial contributions, medical expenses and mobility grants, education and coaching bursaries and grants, charity and community partners. In addition, the LMA’s charity works with a number of selected charity partners, linking the LMA members directly with important community and grassroots programmes.

Sarcoma UK

Sarcoma UK is the only charity in the UK focusing on all types of sarcoma cancer. Our mission is to amplify sarcoma awareness, inspire involvement, and fund ground-breaking research to transform the lives of everyone affected by sarcoma.
We work with patients, carers, supporters, health professionals and researchers to drive awareness of sarcoma, promote early diagnosis and improve patient experience.

We pledge to invest over £3million into sarcoma research by 2020 with the aim of finding effective treatment for the disease within the next 10 years.

We are the only UK charity providing personal support and expert information on sarcoma. In February 2016, we launched our national Support Line.

We aim to increase survival rates by at least 10% by 2020 while also providing education and training for GPs to help them recognise the symptoms of sarcoma.

GeeWizz Charitable Foundation

GeeWizz was set up by veteran fundraiser and charity campaigner Gina Long MBE at the end of last year to create a platform to purchase much-needed equipment for children in Suffolk helping two specific groups – children with disabilities and those who are affected by cancer, either directly or indirectly, or those carrying out research into the disease especially sarcoma and breast cancer.

Through the auction, GeeWizz has been able to support a number of families in Suffolk including the funding of a bespoke powered wheelchair for brave George Woodward who was diagnosed with type 2 spinal muscular atrophy, a condition that affects the spinal cord, causes muscle weakness and leads to severe disability.

My WiSH Charity

My WiSH Charity was set up to further enhance and support the work of West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds. It operates more than 90 charitable funds covering wards, departments and existing fundraising campaigns. This means donors and fundraisers can identify exactly which part of the hospital they would like to support and we can guarantee that every single penny goes to that area.

From the youngest patient to the oldest, My WiSH Charity pledges to work closely with all donors and fundraisers to support the fantastic work of the hospital.
